My first gig back in Miami at 8:30 in the morning at a Cuban senior citizen center in Hialeah!..it was too cool, and it feels GREAT to be back among friends and my Cuban peoples....Bobby Ramirez y su grupo Pan con Bistec..Bobby on flute, Frank Bello on piano, cant see him(we go way back) and the other two I had just met(bass and timbales)..a good time was had by all...

Man, Im so happy to be back in S.Florida with my NEW YORK CREW of Rumberos..a great day was had by all and we played from 11am to 6pm as Rumba should be!...more to come ..I think somebody took some video of us but im not sure so here are the photos...from left to right is
Lil Ray Romero Jr.-Sara,-Cano, Me, Dougy Jay,- Angel Rodriguez and Felix Sanabria...all heavy hitters and old friends from our Rumba days in 'el Barrio' and Central Park..reunited and it feels so good!..as the song goes...more to come!!...and to think we can do this every weekend....oh yeaaaaaaaaa!...hahahaha

My first drum clinic at the "NEW"..SOUTH FLORIDA CENTER FOR PERCUSSIVE ARTS..in S. Miami..It's a great school under the direction of Brandon Cruz..they teach it all there, and I am the new addition to teach and create an Afro-Cuban/Caribbean drum ensemble...so for any of you guys wanting to learn how to play drums/tympani/reading/drum core drumming/mallets/and Latin percussion it's all there...

This Sunday performing with the 17 piece Latin Jazz and Jazz/Swing Bobby Rodriguez Orch. in Ft.Lauderdale Florida...great to play with charts and real musicians plying their trade..and some old X band members of mine are in the band too...It's so nice to be back in S. Florida..Bobby has been a 'mainstay' singer/promoter/in S. Florida since 1981..a fellow Nu Yawka!...he will be singing and conducting the band..

Here is something i did some time ago in Seattle chek out the 5/4 tune with Anjuman...I had only one rehearsal with them...it was trip adapting congas to their sound and rhythms../
