Hey guys.

Thought I'd post some stuff from the band. Here's the band's youtube channel. It mostly has footage of our EP release show from this past August. I've had some discussions on this forum as to why I needed synthetic heads. My argument was that I needed the volume and for them to stay in tune. Hopefully after watching some of the videos you guy can appreciate the volume argument :P Maybe I should talk to the band about my being infront lol. Lately we've just been playing as a 5 piece without a horn section. We are currently putting together a 3 peice horn section. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy.

And here's my personal channel. Don't hesitate to add me if you have an account as well.

Hey guys. I uploaded another video on my youtube channel. It's my band playing one of our new songs and it has a little conga/drumset percussion breakdown/duet thing in it. I'm still developing my technique and rhythmic concepts/solo concepts on the congas so bear with me. Enjoy!

PS. I need a percussion stand, or table, or something where I can put my shakers/tambourine when I'm not using them so I don't have to drop them or search the floor for them lol.

Though that pattern may be used in a funk groove , it's actually a "Songo" pattern with slaps added...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsIBcprmQ7k here i am with the Disco Queen in 1976 ..listen very closely to what I am playing..I mix it up with the patterns which some are 'original' created parts .and we are playing live...

Hey everyone. This past monday, I bought myself some used (barely) LP matador wood bongos that are in terrific shape. I got them for a fantastic price and I couldn't pass them up. These are my first real set of bongos. I have a souvenir pair of bongos that I tried to play once in a while that I got from a trip to cuba. They sound like shit lol, and rightfully so because they arent real bongos. Anyways, I've been playing all week and I'm really enjoying the matador bongos a lot. Perhaps even a bit more than congas at the moment.

Anyways, here's a video I made today trying to play along to some latin jazz. It's not perfect. But I did something a little different with the presentation because I thought it would be really boring to watch an amateur play the bongos. So I made it a little more interesting. I'll call it, "Bongo-art" haha. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy.

Here's a new video I did yesterday. I was playing around with the bongo using some different techniques.

I haven't made my pandeiro video yet because I'm still practicing with it. Give me another week and I may have something. I found it really hard to play when I first got it and I'm usually really good with picking up new instruments quickly. I found out why this has been more difficult than the others. There's a new dimension that I'm not used to. Typically with percussion there is only really one plane of movement to created the sound, The vertical plane (up and down to hit the head). With congas and bongos there is also the horizontal plane (ie. for heel/tip techniques) but only usually with one hand using that plane. With pandeiro, it's a combination of both with both hands doing very different actions. It's takes a little getting used to.

Hey everyone. Here's a new video I posted of a technique for the pandeiro I discovered. It allows you to play several slaps in succession. I use the technique a little when I'm adapting drumset rhythms to the pandeiro, which I've mainly been focusing on. I'm sure there's a great application in it for brasilian music. Enjoy

Hey guys. It's been a while. I rented some congas for a gig I was invited to do by a really talented dude. I got some wood Toca Congas. I don't know the series but they are a decent set. I like them more than my Meinl LC's and I think they sound better. They are all good drums though. Anyways, so I decided to record a video along to a pop song. The bongos are LP Matador wood bongos. Enjoy
