Very Good.
Is that the backing tack from the Tomasito Cruz Volume 3 book/CD?

have you tried learning the Marcha he plays to it? It's quite a challenge with the touches and accented tones but well worth the effort as it's a impressive one once you have mastered it.
The two slaps on the two side of the Clave gives it that groove.

Listen to this old Son by Chocolate Armenteros. The Base melody is actually the same Tumbao Tomasito plays, but slower for practice.

This excellent one by Pedrito Martinez is a variation on this same Timba marcha.

Jaozinho, I would advise you to try to keep your fingers together for now, in order to achieve a clearer more defined open tone.
The tumbao is there, bare in mind the opening beats you do to the left are within the breakdown sections and would not fit in just any part of a song, however its there, just a matter of further practise so it flows more smoothe, and with time the tones will also become clearer. :)
