Hey,I was joking,Mr Rumba,Long or short?? dificult to define,The groove is great and the drums are beautifull!Do you know if they export to Europe, are they expensive?they are in cedar like bauer's.I heard about bad issues with bauer's in european cold Climat, lot's of splits etc. They seem well built but what you think?
will they past the test of time? Thanks so much.

These drums are built like a tank (very strong), they are light heavyweights, that is to say they are not light or heavy. Less then the LP Giovanni's but not as light as old Gon Bops. I like the hardware, extra strong. There are no almas (inner metal ring near the top of the inside of the drum). Only time will tell in terms of how thy hold up. They are currently over a year old (since manufactured). I do not know about shipping to Europe. The company is not easy to deal with. I bought the congas used off of a forum member here. The sound reminds me of another conga drum I really like called PM percussion in Petaluma California. He is a small one man operation who makes beautiful drums as well.

Why is not easy to deal with? They seems very well made, but I prefer Pm percurssion.I know that Drumskulls use to seel Pm percurssions, but not anymore. Is so dificult to find real good drums (tradicional made ones)in Europe,I'm very happy with my lp's They are fine drums(dispite all the critics about mass made drums etc etc)but I will never have those tones, even with good skins.enjoy your drums Mr rumba (I know you do) You're a lucky man

Beautiful drums, tuning ain't how I'd have them but they are fantastic drums. HR make quality stuff . Conga-tulations! Are these the set Jaisen T had for sale?
They are known to the Anglo market to be hard to deal with cause they are based Colombia, Sth America and do not speak English, only Spanish.

With respect, for clarity and with out turning this into a racial issue please..It goes beyond the anglo thing. There are people there locally in NJ/NY area that have deposits on drums that are waiting and waiting (around a year) and have been told that their drums are coming, and they never come (yet). This is a fact. I went through a similar process as well. And I have talked to several people trying to deal with them personally who are having a difficult time. I am not trying to bad mouth the company, I just want people to be aware of the situation at hand.

Meanwhile, I was quoted 3 different prices on the same drums from 3 different people at the company over a period of time. Getting a call back or simple e-mail back is very difficult. My spanish is not great I admit it so I had my Spanish speaking friends call.. but it is beyond that. There are dynamics at play within the company organization that need to be dealt with both in the uSA and abroad and moreover, on a simple business level.

I am sure they are all good people but just hard to deal with in my opinion. I would like to re state I love their conga drums and bongos, too. I really hope they get it together and organize their situation more efficiently.

Maybe the "anglo world" go to fast to columbian way of live, maybe they are few to build drums(almost certain)maybe there are lots of request.Time is always a problem with artisans and is clients, for the artisan he goes to fast he urge to finnish is job,but for the client he almost stop,he's anxious to play is drum.
I think is must be really dificult to deal with :|

I was unaware of other issues, my feedback re difficulties has mostly been in regards to language barrier. No offence intended, all good.
Beautiful, well built and fantastic sounding drums without a doubt however. I personally would love an alma in at least the main drum, be it a quinto or conga, my only somewhat small critique. Perhaps not necessary, but Id still want one in there.
Again, sincere congrats! I would certainly be proud to own a set.

Thanks for clarifying! I agree with you about the alma and miss the alma as well.
