LP Demo Conga - for Custom Orders - Wanted

Hey folks...I am looking to see if any on of you have or know of someone who has one of LP's store demo congas for sale. The drum I am looking for is a store unit they made a few years back that has all of the various colors that they offer, all of the different hardware options, was half wood and half fiberglass - all in one drum. Was not really made to be played - was not sold in stores...was given to stores so customers could see what different options they had when ordering a custom LP classic. I have one that is 11 3/4 (conga) and I don;t know if they made anything other than the 11 3/4 conga...but LP has since stopped the custom ordering conga options so I found that several stores where just trashing the drums. I kinda like them because of the unique colors - if you have one that you are willing to part with for a reasonable price...can you get back to me? oneillw@sbcglobal.net

thanks
w

Contact LP directly. Last I heard, a couple of years ago, they still had some in one of the NJ warehouses.

They only made the 11 3/4 demo. I once had 2 and tuned them differently. They sounded pretty good.

I'm not sure- are these what you're talking about? http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/msg/3330492944.html

I saw Pedrito playing a set of these a few months ago at an outdoor festival and they looked great on stage.

No those are not the ones. I think on the LP custom shop demos they used the classic shells.

No...those are Palladiums...very nice...,but not what I am talking about. These were actually just store demos so if you were interested in buying a set of custom classics...you could look at one of these drums and see every option available....each stave is several different colors, each lug has a different finish as do the sideplates and rim...they are a complete and utter mess...but I kinda like it. I would be guessing...but they may have come up with the idea for the multi-color palladiums in your post from this demo.

I am going to call LP again and see if I can get a lead,

thanks

I think the Drum Pad in Palatine Illinois has one of these LP demo models.

I was there last month, I didn't see one, however they have an excellent price on Gio quinto.
