Yes this is really nice....the hardware seems to be practicly the same than the one used by Mario Punchard from Isla Percussions...!

But regarding the depht, the thickness of the wood..I realy dont know where do they coming from...!

Some of the really great Dominican shells were that thick. A good wood shop can put them back on a lathe and thin them out from the inside. Solid Caribbean mahogany bongo shells are hard to come by these days.

Never go by how something "looks".
If they didn't sell at $229.00, must be a reason.
