Installing a New Head on a Cuica

Postby bengon » Sat Jul 28, 2012 4:55 pm

The day has come and I need to put a new head on my cuica. The rod didn't break, but there is a tear in the skin which will only worsen.

I'm going to buy a goat skin hide and cut some rounds myself. I'm thinking a thin skin is best. If anybody has some advice on installing the bead and rod, please share them.

Thanks!

This video should help. Make sure to keep watching into part 3 of the series, too! http://youtu.be/uAbSaBSTzZk?t=6m40s
