Is this worth getting?

Has anyone seen or played one of these before? It seems kind of small but is reasonably priced. If it plays and sounds decent I might get one. How loud would it be compared to a bigger, higher quality drum?

I have not played or tested this particular drum before. However, in reading the description of this drum from the ebay site you provided, I would have to say that this might be a good starter drum for a young child (8-12 yrs.).

I don't think that the construction/materials used for this particular drum is going to be anything of high quality. You might get loud sound out of this drum however, in comparison to say a 28" or 30" drum, you're definitely not going to get the same bass or depth out of this.

Unless you're planning on getting this for a junior/beginner, I'd forego this and look for something like LP's Performer Series congas. I started out with these, they produce a pretty decent sound for mimimum bucks. I believe Giardinelli sells them. Good luck!

Hi Chris,
Personally I think you'd be much better off looking for a standard size conga (i.e. 28" - 30"+). I suggest looking for a second hand standard size conga if your budget does not stretch too far. That green drum is pretty small and I think you'll out grow it very quickly.

Also if you want to add second or third drum later, then you have the problem of having to get those drums in the same height as the small one, or have drums of greatly differing sizes.
