Sit alone a night and there is nothing on TV .then get the urge to play ,the temptation is so hard at times . but.. My family all tucked away in bed when Dad has had a few glasses of Vino aint a good idea .

just wondered if anyone else gets thes strange urges at night , I need to build myself a studio with sound proofing for those late nights .

Oh yeah!...Lucky me my girl lives far away in DC for now so as a swingin' bach. I can indulge.

We have co-habitated when we were lucky enough to work in the same city ... then those urges were repressed.

The late night thing with me and vino usually involves my old record collection (my sweety calls my taste "70's FM"). The playing along is almost just another way to sit and groove rather than just sit and listen.

I can picture my dad doing the same thing with 78's and my grandpa doing it with wax cylinders ... maybe my boy will do the same with those old fashioned CD's while his kid grooves on some virtual reality gizzmo.

Hey-ho Conga delica and Darrell,
Seems like we share the same problems - if it is really a problem - it´s rather a basic human musical instinct :;):
Yes, I´m one of those daddy-oes too who like to have a decent glass of vino every now and then. But playing congas.. Yes, evenings would be much better to spend in our terraced house with a bunch of sweet little kids sleeping in it if there was a sound-proof studio indeed. Well, this summer I´m working on it: A bare basement room appr. 5x4m will become a room for percussion - also to be played late at night. Have to consider price for soundproof insulation, though.
then those urges were repressed.

-> I know this kind of feeling. If I can work well enough, those urges won´t be repressed much longer.
Evenings and nights are simply the time for jamming or even recording, when the outside world and daily troubles can be pushed out of mind. Last weekend I had a really funny and weird session with my brother in my study room under the roof. Rumba around the desktop, as it were... But not under the influence. Well, as to the neighbours, a good chat the next morning was all it needed...
Otherwise listening to music is also only manageable in the evenings for me.

Yeah, what will our kids listen to when we are really od farts? I wonder...

Yeah, I am having that feeling right now and is only 0630 here in Puerto Rico, the same feeling happens to me when I have not go out to dance in a while. It is a boiling sensation in my veins.

I kinda like it when for whatever reason I can't play for a few days..Because when you get back on em' ! Serious conga attack! :p

Luckily I can play pretty much any hour, midnight rumba's are the dogs!
