Anyone ever deal with this guy ? Seemed cool at first. bought a Matt smith from him.I sent more $ than what he asked for to ship and he sends it USPS uninsured and provides no tracking number. Then Acts like its my fault cause I did not specificly ask him to insure it. Probably would have cost him an extra $3.00. Then resorts to name calling like a 5 yr old. Actually called me a dork. Luckily I got the drum and its fine but surely could have been a nightmare. You never know. sorry west coast guys. Thanks Tony.

I feel sorry for your bad experience, but I wonder what place your problem has got on this forum?
Are you talking about an ebay seller you would like to warn us of? :?

Only recently this forum has suffered to a certain degree from seller/customer bashing -
hey, that´s not the principle goal of us chatting here, isn´t it?
Peace & drum

Open discussion seemed an appropriate place to alert people to my experience with a prominent conga player/seller who was less than stellar to deal with. I think most of us here would appreciate a heads up. I know I do. Anyway would you ship an expensive conga without insurance? it protects both the seller and buyer in the unfortunate but all to common event of damage or loss. Sorry if my post is out of line

You are right in everything you say, it is only that I do not know how many of us will encounter a seller called Tony S. in their lifetime.
For those who do you have spoken out a good warning indeed.
Sending congas via post is a delicate matter for sure.
Peace & drum

So your complaint is he did not insure the drum or give a tracking number?

However you got the drum you paid for in good condition without damage.

I don't see any problem with this transaction.

I apreciate all feedback left, by our members when dealing with someone you can't see.
It gives us a sence of feedback on members, that sell on the forum, but we cant really see any
feedback such as ebay's. It serves to all of us. :D

adamc2 point is that he sent extra money, for proper shipping, and the seller when half on it, to save some money, pocketing it, instead of shipping safely.
The extra amount adamc2, paid for shipping is probably more than the amount the seller paid for cheapes shipping fare.

adamc2 , post freely my brother.

If we all act according, with integrity, and help one another, than there is no problem with any one posting, how they feel about their transaction experience.

This is open discussion isn't it?
We all apreciate this forum
Most forums, you can post anything, unless is voulgar.

i believe we should be able to have freedom of expression on the forum, this is not my communist conga forum?

By locking a tread, is censorship, it stops memebers from their freedom of comunication.

If we would have just posted all this kind of feedback under one post we wouldn't have aproblem, about multiple similar post.
We should have been allowed to continue similar post under the roberfletcher post, and continue.

I think more than one member will disagree on locking our post...... :?: ...any one

On a general note:
Assuming this is an ebay transaction, I got to say that apart from some islotaed examples, highly inflated shipping charges on ebay is the biggest scam ever.

Totally agree D
In a auction i won for a drum for $49.99, the seller decided to charge on the invoice $79.99, and wouldn't adust, or sell it unless i paid tha amount when it actually cost $25.00 to ship, a total scam.
When a seller dosnt post the shippingt cost, once you win, you are left at the sellers mercy.

This forum has enough members, that we can probably supply each other the instrument we need, and we should recognize those honest providers, and also the fudgy transactions as well.

In order to be able to make a better judgment, in every purchase.

I don't see any problem with this transaction.

In Contracts and Obligations, if a buyer, for example, pays extra for (1) shipping that provides tracking information and (2) insurance, and the seller accepts it, then the seller is morally obligated to provide the service(s) the buyer paid for. Whether the agreement is written or verbal, they become part of the terms of sales/purchase contract between the seller and the buyer. If the seller doesn't both provide (1) and (2), then the buyer must refund the extra payment.

Furthermore, in Ethics, the end does not justify the means.

And the Golden Rule states, "Do not do to others what you do not what others to do to you."

You did not ask him to send it insured and you are upset he did not read your mind and send it insured???
So whats is your point? Slander, defamation of character?
You've purchased what is arguably one of the best drums on earth and from what you have posted its fine and received undamaged etc etc.
So you post this thread to complain about something you did not ask for, was not asked of you to pay and yet you have received all in perfect condition.
