Valje/Resolution photos....

Postby cdldrum » Mon Sep 07, 2009 7:19 pm

Sirs...

Found these vintage shots of Valje Congas on the heir apparent website...Resolution. Many here
have seen these ...just thought it was too cool not to share. Too my eye, Sr. Flores built some
beautiful drums.... and appears the tradition continues. Over the years have heard many good reports
on the Valje fit-and-finish and the tone delivered. Maybe someday....

apologies if these have already been posted. (they were kind of buried on the Resolution website,
so thought worthy of posting...60's California art. 8) )

Peace, Chas

I've spent some time on Ralph's site as well. I've got drums by both
him and his father.

BnB....

Wow... the Tumba (on the right) (I assume) has the classic vintage visual appeal.... very nice.
Did Sr. Flores use almas ?

Very classey collection... i'm just guessing  they sound even better then they look. Great photo.

Peace, Chas

None of the Flores family drums have almas that I know of. The Valje tumba on the right is
at least 40 years old according to Ralph, and was made by Tom Flores, as well
as the bongo on the right, the other drums are Resolutions, and were made by
Ralph Flores for me a few years ago.
