A Cuban timbale player friend of mine Alberto Sierra nicknamed me 'mano del trapo' loosely interpreted as 'rag hands'...due to the way my hands move on the conga drums..."JC" Johnny Conga

at work they call me Bongo, and for entertianment name i use BongoWillie, Bongo came from, when they asked me if i hunt or fish and i told them no, that i play latin percussion instruments the conga, and they kept on calling them bongos the tall ones, so after a year of trying to teach them the difference i just gave up..this is here in Little Rock, Arkansas were latin percussion instumentation is rare, mainly blues, country, bluegrass and rock music..
