Remember disco very well , brought back memories, tremendous times. Back in the day you and the late Frankie Rodriguez just looked alike. How long did you play with Gloria Gaynor? Any recordings? Thanks for the link and the trip back on memory lane.

Here is someone I had never heard of before, Enildo Rasua, he was playing with Chaguito on the clip Congadelica just posted.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-apAMQu ... re=related

He is playing 5 rumba parts with 4 limbs. At the end, the clave is trying to escape his left foot, and finally does! I never saw someone play the guagua part and clave with the same hand at the same time. Or a one handed timbale solo while playing clave, bombo, salidor, and tres dos. I wonder if he can sing too. Maybe they just ran out of mics for him.

Looks like his technique evolved from his playing marimba.

Im sure its pure shownamship on the behalf of Enildo , if you look at the singers Chago being one of them more rumberos to shake a stick at . pretty talented guy no? but i agree dont really see the point of the independance playing in this situation . just my opinion . its quite funny though to see the guy struggle with the bell  .

None the less a very talented percusionista . there are some other good video on Enildo s channel on utube . check them out people .

I am with you there, it is much more fun to play all those parts together with others of course.
Still, Enildo is a very good player for sure.

Speaking of non-traditionalist, this is one of the most interesting videos I've come across.
It's not congas, but anyone who doesn't enjoy this would have to be completely void of rhythm.
This is really good.

When we are speaking about non-traditionalist, check this one, from 8:10... Steve plays 6/8 clave on bell and sings great groove to it...:-)
