MaSSivedrums, I can't thank you enough for bringing me to that studio, jamming with me, having me blow on those awesome congas, posting pix and starting this topic!
I'll phone later today, looks like more jamming coming up tomorrow and Wednesday!
What an amazing thing, the internet, this congaplace forum, making such contacts possible.
Didn't grow up with my birth mother, long story, but she's lived out here years and I saw her last years ago - now she was able to fly me here for a kind of "goodbye" visit. She's getting on in age but I'm dragging her around to places I'm playing, and she's enjoying immensely... She was a pro jazz singer for many years, most her life... I will sometime soon post some pix I now have of her in different bands of the past...
This has been a great chance for me to do some "catching up" with her and with my sister here, and to meet in person super people like Nolan (maSSivedrums), to play those volcano congas - and in such a beautiful place, with many fine players. Hope I can make it back out here again.
Yeah, people out here are awesomely friendly, as I am lucky!
