Hi MArcelo Congratulations on the deal. I am considering getting a pair of fibressglass galaxies with skins from mules.

Happy to see that talent is being recognised in Aus. it's been a long time coming for you. about time they saw what was right in front of their face.

Hey Abakua, that's a great deal you got. One of my dreams is to someday have some kind of an endorsement deal but I am not holding my breath. I am an amateur but I love to play congas. So you like that Pearl Chekere? I am going to have to check that out. Take it easy and I am happy they are showing you some respect and taking care of you

Congradulations. Those congas are gorgeous and I love that shekere.

The green set up above is also lovely.

I also have the Protection Racket cases. They are superb. I also have my snare drums in those cases.

Great looking drums Marcelo!

How do they compare to the Palladiums? (that would be sound, not weight :;):

Yo Troels,
Thanks brother, Im very happy with them.
Comparison to the Palladiums, apart from being half the weight of them, they sound great, Classics are awesome drums, I owned a set of 3 for over 10 years, never had a problem.
Sound wise, they are not quite as loud, but thats only to the trained percussion ear. In a gig setting, no difference.
Great projection, nice base tones, crisp slaps, great open tones. Im loving them! :D

I got some new toys today, I took down 2 students to the distributor, one picked up some new skins, and a new bongo bell and ordered in some more skins and hardware, the other got some hi hats, skins and sticks...
In return, I got 2 new chekere!

The one on the right and the one on the left I got today, the one in the middle I got last week...
Each has its different tuned sound.

Yo, those are some of the fattest Guiros i've ever seen! (the ones on the left of the last pic) Do you find them more difficult or easier to play than a normal sized (18" long, 6 " diameter) guiro?

hehehe yeh, they be some fat a s s guiro's!

I find them much easier to play than the LP etc fibreglass ones. Most likely due to the way I make the handle... They are big, but cause they are gourd, they are very light. Easy to hold and can be played all night with comfort.

You can check out the thread I posted where I show how I made the guiro's by going here:

also here:

Enjoy!
