Did you guys consider doing a conga & flute jam at the end?
Would have been a nice finish!

I have one more day of David's Quinto class at the Humboldt camp, and he is definitely blowing our minds with detailed pattern analysis, hints, great lesson plans that parallel the progression of his book.. He's a fantastic teacher!
So as for jamming with congas,, last night we had a big descarga montuno session with Bobby Wilmore on keys, Kenneth - a student on xylophone, Zeno on bongo - martillo, Mike Spiro on quinto, Rob a student on smoking hot bass, Johnny Santos on Chekere, a student on a son clave, and Lazaro Gallaraga singing amazing Akpon with all the students belting out beautiful coros.. Truly special,,
This is where you would have fit in on a flute perfectly! They are very welcoming in these situations!
Followed by --- the most awesome rumba I've EVER witnessed.
Sandy Perez smoking hot on quinto, Roman Diaz phat lines on tumbadora, Miguel Bernal thundering bass on Bajo, Jesus Diaz tasty response spots on Tres Dos, Mike Spiro a machine on guagua, Chris Walker suave on clave, and Johnny Santos atomic clock on shekere! and finally, Lazaro and the coro singing with inspired harmony! Whoof! It was amazing!
Then, the cops came and shut us down due to neighbor's noise complaint.
