Hey JohnnyConga! That's one heck of a performance. Shows all your skills. Well not all. I'm sure you've got more. You da man! JohnnyConga. Kinda put things in perspective for me, when I think of some of your comments concerning the music industry, particularly who gets to make it " big". Now time for a vid. Who is this? WOW!

HELLO Windhorse...the Great "Candido" was the first to do the face on congas routine and u can see him do it at youtube.com "Candido's Birthday Party"....at the age of 84.....it is a classic conga solo routine...just a lot slower for his age, but it's all there....Johnny Conga... :D

Good going to TheOne!

I found some rhythmic food for thought....

1) Here is an old-school looking, grainy vid of a smooth player making it look effortless...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8V0mz17PCU

2) This funky drummer plays riffs on the 2/3 clave beat on timbales and drumset combo...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65zSPG1xGn0

3) Here's a guy who loops his tumbadora rhythm, then solos over the loop with a makeshift timbale setup. Not bad, kinda funky...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG_qOG5zGBE

4) Here is a cool percussion section of a band called the Original Big Band. There young guys are tight!

Enjoy!!
