HELLO Windhorse...the Great "Candido" was the first to do the face on congas routine and u can see him do it at youtube.com "Candido's Birthday Party"....at the age of 84.....it is a classic conga solo routine...just a lot slower for his age, but it's all there....Johnny Conga...

1) Here is an old-school looking, grainy vid of a smooth player making it look effortless...
