Lil Brother Isaiah your technique and precision have come a long way in a short time.
God's hand is on you. Excellent video and nice musicality and touch.
Always remember to keep it "musical"... music/sound/dynamics/groove above all.

Isiah, good stuff kiddo!!
You've definitely got real choppage!
Keep a playin!!
I hope you're learning some songs as well as developing the great skills you've been working on.
You should go to Humboldt State for the Afro-Cuban workshops if you can save up enough cash for it..
You're doing great! Don't ever stop!

Anjuman - Holy Crap - dude I am so impressed by this!
I mean I knew you were good (awsome in fact) but sometimes by the tone of your posts ... I thought...old skool = ridgit maybe even - but by god- the way you played /adapted to the situation and added such coolness to the music blew me away.

Reminded me of a weird but tresured recording I have on tape (remember tape?) of Ravi Shankar and the london Philharmonic with some guy (who was that guy BTW?) doing bongos in the place of tabalas.

Respect ( and more respect)

Go to Abakua site

http://profile.myspace.com/index.c....8137733

and click on the fourth video clip down on the right, and check out these kids, paying special
attention to the quintero in the middle. Unbelievable.

Good one Congatick!
The clip is from "Fiesta de Tambores"

Amazon has not got it so if you want it you will have to put up with Descarga's long delivery timescale. :(
But it is well worth adding to your collection

His father is the one standing behind him playing clave. He IS the NEW ANGA, you wait and mark my words, you will be hearing and seeing a lot of him...."JC" Johnny Conga.... :D

I´ve recently seen the movie "Musica Cubana" - the sons of Cuba... I know, German theatres were a bit late to show it
Pio Levya´s good humour is worth being mentioned, but first of all - THE MUSIC.......!!!!!!!!!!
But still, there are two tunes I found particularly well-produced:
FIRST: Negrito Bailador live in Japan with a smokin´ conga solo at 4´40 :

SECOND:
A very tasteful and smooth yet funky backbeat version of Chan chan:

with Cuban rap, groovy bass and everything this song needs.

A gozar!
Peace & drum
