I have been playing hand percussion for about a year and a half. Any ideas on practice tips or rhythms.

Well i would recommend Videos to start with. Kalani puts out some good videos for percussion and for Latin drumming is Giovanni Hidalgo and Bobby Sanabria's videos too. At least it will get you started until you can find a mentor/teachor. At your Service...and remember the 5 DEEZ--DESIRE-DEDICATION-DISCEPLINE-DETERMINATION ==DESTINY!....JC JOHNNY CONGA........ ;)

Hello .......I would recommend a variety of videos to start with,EX. Kalani videos,or Bobby Sanabria vol 1 and 2. Giovanni's first video. Bill Matthews Conga Joy video which I must say has a ton of rhythms that even I forgot I used to play so many congas ago. So u may want to start there until you can find yourself a mentor/teacher....At your Service ..JC JOHNNY CONGA... ;)
