Someone told me the other night that a lot of the typical quinto riffs are played only in response to particular rumba espcially guaganco dance moves. I know the interaction between quinto player and dancer is strong, the two feed off each other and so on. But are certain licks only played for particular parts of the dance? Thus a five-stroke roll or whatver only when the dancer does a particular move?
