I consider people like Tito Puente, Willie Bobo, Mongo Santamaria and Ray Barreto to be by themselves in what they did to the "rhythm section" of anything that required latin percussion. Here they go..

Of course his really good and talented player. He just isn't in my top category. Basslines from players like Carlos del Puerto, his son Carlitos and Silvio Vergara, are really what I enjoy to listen and play with. Listen to Cubanismo's Reencarnation, then you'll know what I mean.

JC, Oscar is great. His work with Spyro Gyra and Herp Albert is really groovy.
