Just got off the phone with Isaac talking about new heads. Super nice guy and very helpful. Going to order new premounted mule hide heads as soon as he lets me know they are in and ready to go. Can't wait! Should make the Meinl Pros sing. :blues:

Ivan brought me back a pre-mounted head from Issac--"It's slammin"....it's so clean sounding on my Pearl Elite quinto. It is also taking it's toll on my hands. Mule has a way of toughining your hands, quick.....but the sound makes it all worth it....Thanks Issac......en Paz......JC JOHNNY CONGA.... :;):

Untaltumbador,

I just gave Isaac a heads up about your post. He should be getting in contact with you soon.

JC - I'll see you tomorrow, right?

mmm hm yes Mongo did tape up alot!! Are you implying that mule skin does this? I remember Armando taped up quite a bit, but not like Mongo.
Its funny some folks say , if you tape up, you're lame. yeah right.

Your not lame if u tape up, your just taking care of your hands. Everybody's hands are different and some take a beating more than others....JC JOHNNY CONGA... :;):

My thoughts exactly, I never understood why people would think just because you tape up you're lame. Hey if Mongo and Armando need to tape up, there's gotta be a good reason for it.
Notice that the splits happen at the same places?

I don't think most of us need tape unless we're playing
for hours & hours many nights in a row. If your
gonna damage your hands without tape, you're possibly doing something wrong and tape would only be a temporary solution.
I also thinks Microphones have come a long way.
When Mongo & Armando started a Mic was
not part of the equation. Mongo of course had
his unmistakable trademark hard hitting sound.

Isaac,

I just purchased a CD just remastered from original Vynl - Mongo live at the village gate... There is a track on there with just Mongo Soloing - Like Johnny says... "I get chills" hearing him play...

[Mongo of course had
his unmistakable trademark hard hitting sound.OTE]

Hope all is well.
