Dear Conga Forum Friends,
I'm sad to say that Lazaro Ros, the great voice of the Orishas, has passed away at age 80. His many fans, friends, and family will remember Osha Niwe (saint of the mountain) as one of the strongest links in the unbroken chain between Cuba and Nigeria. Lazaro helped preserved for the younger generation the great Yoruba liturgical tradition, passing on to us a spirit that will continue to inform and inspire us all. He will be greatly missed.

Ashe,

Berimbau

A very sad moment.
Con todo el respeto que usted se amerese, que descanse en paz.

Hearing your recordings as I grew up inspired me in so many ways. I regret never having the opportunity to see a live performance in the flesh.
