Down here I keep hearing about this legendary rumbero called Tata Wiener, all I hear is how good he is, blah blah blah

Well I am coming up for a sabbatical and have polished my conga skills to an expert level.

Since I am not a US citizen I can freely travel to Cuba where I will challenge Tata to a conga duel.

Does any one has his phone number or address so I can give him a heads up that I am coming ?

Thanks in advance,

Pete

Hi Pete...how do u think Tata would think of your challenge, besides laughing at the idea.? He's in his 70's, and isnt as powerful as he once was. Now how about challenging Anga? maybe someone closer to your age. Or even me for that matter, I'm only 56 and can still whip it good!..... :D "JC" Johnny Conga......... :D

Someone with the name "Juzzi" calls me a fool ? Hmmm

Don't worry about Tata, I will be gentle with him.

I am serious about this, don't give me silly addresses that mispell Roomba. I hope I have not wasted my time in so much practicing by coming here and not getting any information.

I am a real bad ass Roomba player, you will all stop laughing when you hear what I can really do !

Pete,
The correct spelling of it is Rhumba, not Roomba... Since we all consider ourselves a drum family we would like to know a bit more about you...

Who have you played with, how long have you been playing? I would assume you have some type of resume considering your arrogance...

I see that a professional has already challenged you - yet you have not responded to his challenge...

If you feel you can meet the challenge I would go straight for Tata's protege - Miguel Anga Diaz... He's a bad mo'fo, man...

Ivan, you are worst than the Hurricane

Rhumba, is that some kind of a Tropical drink like Kahlua ?
Or maybe it is really Rumba as in Yambu or Guaganco, or Columbia, but hey, who is me to know?

Come on lads, at least ZaraManteca has some cojones and wants to screen me out first, but what I really need is Tata's address which nobody here seems to know.

Hi Mr. Murray.. with all due respect..Who are You? We are a Drum Family here. We know who each of us are. Now you being NEW here, we would like to know about YOUR Credentials. But most of all why the attitude? You refuse to answer our questions. To us you come off as very immature or your "badder" than Gio, which I doubt. What is your musical history? Who have you played with? How long have you been playing? If you go to Cuba take an escort with you your gonna need it, and they would happy to take you to Tata's home.....BTW I'm ready for ya, ANYTIME dude!..... :D "JC" Johnny Conga......

I think you are right, Franc, after seeing Johnny Congas menacing picture in this thread I am truly reconsidering that I really need more practice. That picture kept me awake last night, I could not get it out of my mind, as a matter of fact I am still trembling.

However, even though Johnny did make a nice try as far as non citizens in an airforce base, here at Ft McMurdo we are doing research on many weather related and geological projects, there even four Russians here.

But to get back on topic, What I want to know is this: how did we get from my misguided attempt to challenge Mr. Wiener to a duel and then everyone jumps in to duel me.

I do want to challenge the one armed guy, Victor, if he is willing to take me for practice.

Idiots attract other idiots, maybe that is what happened here.

All other considerations aside, I would strongly suggest that nobody should ever, for any reason, post a person's address or phone number on a discussion board unless you have that person's permission. You never know who's asking or what their agenda is, aside for the general nuisance of unwanted phone calls.

If Pete Murray truly wants to challange a master I would suggest he cultivate some contacts through mutual respect and friendship. Then, if he is all he says he is, he'll get his chance to play with the masters. Music is an art, not war. We have enough war already.

Agreed, you two are really making sense to me. You don't intimidate me like the others.

I really need to practice more and quietly approach people that play well and take it easy and non-competitively.

Thanks !
