This subject has been threaded pretty extensively, the bottom line seems to be: whatever works for you. There are as many weird setups as their are rhythms. I'm right-handed also, but play left-handed (My tumbaos based on HT/manoteo w/right and slaps w/left. Don't ask, just the way I taught myself.) and my setup is probably as weird: Conga in center, quinto to right, tumba to left. Bongos next to me behind tumba and big Remo next to me behind quinto. All that matters is the sound, the groove, the clave. Experiment!
