G'day
I found a site where you can buy conga shells and harware as well as skins to make your own congas etc...

Does any one know of any other places where conga sheels can be bought?
Perhaps - fiberglass shells, composite shells etc...

Hi Richard,
I would be hesitant to purchase harware and shells over the internet without inspecting them first hand personally.
Billy Hydes in Sydney can order you shells etc if you are after reputable build brands etc.

Oye JC! they look pretty cool, the conga kits!
So how difficult would it be to drill the holes? Would there be a guide of sorts? and do you know anything about the crown? I personally would prefer a 'traditional' rim, but I wouldn't know where to get one for those drums. Que piensas pana?
Either way, you can't go wrong with that price!
Suave!

Check the website closely! Then finished jobber is like 30-40 bucks more. SAME DRUM. Seems like a lot of work for the price difference.

THe Rhythm Traders web site has heaps of gear if you take some time and search around you will find heaps of stuff. JRC bells are also sold there.
JC if you have a look at the link from bataboom and go to the other items section on ebay, that seller is also selling old slingerland and rogers timbales. I I presume they are similar to the ones that you have. the price seems reseanable.

Actually I have solid Brass slingerlands. I didnt see any at ebay that match the ones I have...though for 100 bucks u can get a nice set of timbales....My friend had a mint condition set of Chrome Rogers timbales with rolling case, stand, bells, cymbals, I sold it for $1,000 dollars for him, to a guy in California that collects timbales, and he was very happy... my friend had them under his bed for 35 years and played them only twice....BTW..Descarga has a video sale going on ..videos from Cuba for 10 bucks.....go get im!...."JC" Johnny Conga....
