So sorry to hear that. I wasn't familiar with a lot of his work but I really loved the way he played on some of Herbie Hancock's albums. May he rest in peace.

If you get a chance listen to Don and Jaco Pastorious they did a nice piece as a duet in Jaco's album, called simply "Jaco".
He also toured with David Sanborn.
