Well, Congaplace team is just DA BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CongaMan just added a one minute video clip of me playing daholla (bass darbouka) that I sent to congaplace. Again, it's on my mini web page (Yonatan Bar Rashi) in the list of members.

It's here:
http://www.congaplace.com/musician/yoni/index.php

My girlfriend asks me to warn that a seat belt and helmet are recommended while viewing.

:D

Comments, questions welcome.

Hope you enjoy!

your video was great... More! More!

Interestingly, I checked your timing by counting as you played.
Your timing landed perfectly as you came out of each roll/flurry.
The spirit of King David must be with you my brother!

How about some other videos? Congas?

Hey Tom!

Thanks so much! Being relaxed is the only way I can play like that. When I don't have a camera staring at me, I'm more relaxed still! But I'll get used to it and hope to do more clips soon.

All the best,

Yoni

I should add that the two rhythms I play with here are known to me as Malfouf (first rhythm) and Masmoudi (second). There are probably similar rhythms with different names, depending on what part of the world they're played in, but those are the names I know them by.

Yeah, that guy is just gone. Straightjacket on him and triple his meds... maybe we'll get a quadruple roll out of him...

:D

Thanks, Charangaman!

Absolutely BEYOND cool! Just got high-speed iternet and the video now is amazing, Yoni. Great admiration for your command and respect for all the years you've invested in perfecting your technique. The mideast goblet drums are starting to call me, but am daunted by the long and rocky road they will now entail. I am honored to know you.

Whoa, CongaTick, thank you so much, again. Feeling pretty honored myself, it's mutual.

Niallgregory, glad you liked it, too. Thanks.
