Need to pass this onto a drummer...

Needed notation of Batucada groove he can play on drumkit.
I have demonstrated what can be played on congas and timbales and assorted percussion, but needed is what he can play on full drumkit.
Any links or diagrams would be appreciated.

Airto moriera's video "listen and play" is a very good resource for kit drummers wanting to play Brazilian grooves as he pays a lot of attention to developing the right feel.

Heres one basic pattern for kit, with the snare playing 3/2 bossa clave. Depending on the melodic arrangement however, the snare and all percussion instrumentation might need to play with a 2/3 feel, just like cuban music. OK, clave isnt such a strict thing in lots of afro brazilian music, but its still good to have a sense of it. How you create space between the two bass drum accents will really help the groove- dont push them too close together so it ends up becoming a jazz swing.

Hi-hat or Ride- X.XXX.XXX.XXX.XX [1 ana2 ana3 etc]
Bass Drum- X.. XX.. XX.. XX ..X [1 a2 a3 etc]
Snare- X..X..X...X..X.. [Bossa clave]

If you go to myspace.com/thehatband, click on downloads then listen to "blessed" u can hear this exact groove.

Hope this helps, stu

Thanks for that, the notation I need is for straight out batucada groove on kit, its for a very busy pop/funk drummer who needs to play a batucada groove for 1 minute for a radio ad, rather that hire a full group/line up of traditional batucada drummers, they are budgeting for 1 person, limited time/takes so it eliminates me going in and recording every part of every instrument in batucada.

Any further notations of straight up batucada would be highly appreciated.

Or if you know of a website which has the notation on it, or if you have adiagram of it on your pc, please let me know.

Thanks...

Tho this is not notated, its easy enough to transpose onto paper.
Batucada, tho its usually written in cut time, here it is in 4.

Right hand is Surdo, + = press into head on tom or floor, o = open tone or stroke
1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a I 1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a
+ o + o + o + o

Left hand plays the clave on snare, cross stick or stroked on head
1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a I 1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a
x x x x x x x x x x x x x x
(1) (& of 1) (e of 2) (a of 2) (e of 3) (4) (& of 4)

BD
1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a I 1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a
x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x

hh
1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a I 1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a

Batucada on drumset ?? you may duplicate, the surdo on the bass drum, the caixa on the snare, ganza on the hi-hat, may fragmently throw in the ago-go bells, but what about the pandeiro, the tamborim, the cuica, the reco-reco, the repenique, and the pito.
nothing like a full batucada.
