Hola mi gente. I hope everyone is well. I was just listening to the song De mi para Puerto Rico, and it got me to wondering if he was still alive or not. Does he still live on the island? What's up with him? I'm sure one of the resident salseros can answer me. thanks

Last I've heard is that Just is living in Florida. Supposedly, around the Tampa area. (Can't confirm this).

Like some of the people of the Golden Era of Salsa (70s) he still perform once in awhile. His voice is not the same and is noticeable. (Justo got be around or close to his 70s). Last time he was here in PR, that I recall, was in the one of the Dia Nacional de la Salsa about four years ago.

Don't know if anybody knows something else....

Saludos!

Raymond. Gracias por la respuesta. Florida huh? Where all old rumberos go to finish their days. At least he's still alive and kicking. Every time another great leaves us it's like a bit of the soul of salsa dies too, well to me anyway.

El dia nacional de la Salsa is coming up. Anyone know the lineup yet?

Saludos a todos.

I think the line up for El Dia Nacional de La Salsa for this year is:

HONOREES (WHO IS DEDICATED TO)

Raphy Leavitt and Sammy Marrero

Somebody else...can't remember....!

THE REST:

Luis Perico Ortiz with Rafael De Jesus and the guy that followed Rafael as singer...(uyyy....I forgot his name. Is not Domingo Quinones...The one that sings Tin Marin de Do Pingue)

Raymond Castro y La Masacre with Tito Nieves singing

Can't remember the others.....I know at the end Raphy Leavitt's band will play with two of Puerto Rico cuatro players, Prodigio Claudio and Pedrito Guzman. (I play with Prodigio's band. I won't be there though...)

Let you know as soon as I get the info again...
