So frigging frustrating, sliced a big piece of skin off my left index finger tip, right as I was leaving to buy a used drum!
Letting it heal and have'nt been able to play my drums or my ukulele for a week, and I have conga classes this weekend..
oh well, been keeping busy with claves, cowbell, the shekere, maracas and a cabesa I just got...............still I got that new (used) quinto sitting in the corner.
Heal dammit!! Stupid finger! Stupid door!

Yeah, I can relate, sorry to hear about your injury. I broke my collarbone last year and if you can imagine the sound of a one handed clave player...
Time to learn some coros while playing clave, it will be time well spent while your finger is healing.

ouch , feel for ya man.
I'm always busting/cutting my fingers.
Once time , shall I say uh .. when I was overinduldged-I got my pinky finger stuck when I tried to close a car door. And it locked.
The bone was fractured at the end joint and eventually the finernail fell off a few times in the healing process. It took a long time to heal before I could actually play congas.
Its worse when you have a new drum sitting and waiting.
