Hey everyone.
I recently heard Manny Oquendo's Conjunto Libre do "Elene Elena" and love that tune.
My problem is I don't speak Spanish and I searched online for the lyrics but could not find them.
I want to learn to sing and play (congas) this song.
Does anyone have the lyrics for Elena Elena?
Could you cut and paste them here or email me?
Here is a video of Manny's group doing the tune
Watch Elena Elena!

El Bombón de Elena
Rafael Cepeda
Elena toma bombón, bom, toma bombón Elena.
Elena toma bombón, bom, toma bombón Elena.
(Soneo)

Alafia Abures!
I hope that you are all well and abundantly blessed!
Alafia Abure Caballoballo!
Como esta familia?
I believe that the version Abure Congamyk was looking for is the Manny Oquendo y Conjunto Libre one in the video. Tremendo!
Try this one......
Elena
(Manny Oquendo y Conjunto Libre versión)
-1st coro-
Elena, Elena (2x)
Elena me dijo a’mi
Yo me voy Papito santo pa’l pueblo de Manatí (2x)
-pregón-
Así me dijo Elena (2x)
Un día que me amanecí
Me dijo ya’ no te quiero
Contigo no soy feliz
Me dijo ya’ no te quiero
Me voy para Manatí
-1st coro-
Me dijo adiós Papito contigo no soy feliz
-1st coro-
-conga solo-
-2nd coro- (4x)
Ponce, Ponce
Ponce, Ponce, Ponce
-trombón solo-
-3rd coro- (2x)
-1st coro-
instrument - out

Thank you for posting the lyrics for this song!
Unfortunately the automatic translations on websites are not doing a good job on the translation to English.
If anyone would like to post with a decent translation of the lyrics I'd be most grateful for their effort! Please translate everything, both the lyrics and what they say to each other during the song!
Not only that, but I would like to know the semantic importance of the song, meaning, why does the singer wants to go to the holly town of Manati? What is the importance of him going to that town?
Thank you in advance! This is one of the best musical performances of the 20th Century
[edit] I forgot to mention a clip of that performance is on YouTube on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUHmwo1-X_o
Thank you!
