Hi all,

Good to see the forum working again!

I just put up a new sound clip on my "myspace" spot. It's the 4th tune, the bottom one listed there, called Ma'ayan (Spring like water spring, in Hebrew). It's 3 minutes of a kind of jungle romp, 4 tracks of me playing first on cajon, then dahola, bongos, and a wooden xylophone I just built. Was done in a hurry at a local small studio, with no plan and no edit.
Hope you enjoy.

P.S. The foxy lady in the black and white pics in the slideshow there is my mother - but way back, when she was a jazz singer, so don't get no ideas. :)

Here's the link:

wow!!! on all points, Yoni. Your Mom was (is) a stunning beauty, and the clip shows you haven't missed a touch with advancing age. :D . Those doubles are faster than ever.

Yoni,, I just got the chance to sit down for a few minutes and listen to your music!!
I love your ensemble of creative acoustic jazz.. All elements left acoustically pure without effects, the musicianship high caliber with classical technique and style, but freely explorative.
Very nice.. :D

Great Track once again Yoni 8)
Just checking your myspce I see you are one of the lucky ones who has had a chance to checkout the Volcano Percussions Congas and Bongos.
Id be interested to know how they compare to the like of SoS Matt smiths or Original Gon Bops ? How did you like them .

Sorry for going off topic here .

Wow, thank you for the beautiful replies!

Johnny I will have to check out that CD by Ben Lapidus. Thanks for that info!

Marco, I used to have a gon bops original tumba, but that was before 20 years and I can't now make a fair comparison with the Volcano congas I played a couple years ago. Matt Smiths I'm not familiar with. I still think most of the sound is in the hands - you can hear great drummers make bad drums sound great, and bad drummers can make great drums sound lousy - but those Volcanos did sound super dyno to me, I never heard better. Wish I could have played on them more. The chance I had was a great gift from 'Massivdrums'...

All the best,

Yoni
