Cracked Bearing Edge - advice please.

My Meinl Marathon quinto has a crack on the bearing edge. There is no damage on the drum other than a few wear and tear scuffs and these are nowhere near the site of the crack.

Would you repair a crack like this? If so, how would you do it?

The red dot shows how far the crack is visible on the outside of the body.

Yes definitely fix it, or it could easily get worse.

I would use gorilla glue and then clamp the shell tight to close the crack while it dries.
I use a bicycle inner tube and a stick to twist it with to make it tight.
You could use a rope, but that might slip up towards the top as you tighten.
To keep it from slipping you could loop some string around the rope and loop it thru
your lugs to keep the rope / tube clamp in place.

Because a drum is tapered a rope clamp likes to move as you tighten, I find the inner tube stays in
place a bit better. But try the lug and string idea.

A pretty simple job really.

Yeah, all the glues have their good and bad, I now prefer Gorilla glue for a repair like that from my personal experience.
I had a similar crack and I couldn't seem to get the Titebond into it enough and it came apart again.
The gorilla glue will expand and get deeper into the crack, that crack looks like it might be hard to get at.
A crack on a stave joint would probably be easier to open up and get glue into. I would use Titebond for that.
I've used the Titebond too.
Anyways, I've started to like the Gorilla glue.

Yeah Mike, I just edited my post, like 3 seconds ago, what time is it in Germany?
I used to be in favor of Titebond, but I'm coming around to Gorilla glue, mainly because
it moves around into the crack when it foams, places that are hard to get Titebond into.
