Well I've finally joined this amazing forum, that seems to be overflowing with talent, knowledge and a lot of class. Everyone here seems to treat each other with a lot of understanding and respect. I'm originally from Panama' now living in the beautiful state of Colorado. I've always wanted to learn to play the congas and it wasnt till last week that I pulled the trigger and ordered one. It arrived Friday, but it was damaged, So I'll wait a while longer. I have no musical backround whatsoever, so this is going to be quite the journey for me. I'll make sure to use the search button a lot and not fill the forum with all my elementary questions. Thank you so much in advance to all of you and also for all you have already contributed.
-Jorge

Welcome, and if you are in the Boulder or Denver area, you should check out Dave aka "windhorse" on here. He is part of a great rumba group there. There is something for every player, from beginner to advanced.

Windhorse, you are right , I'm in Fort Collins and I can't believe I missed the Haiti fundraiser that you guys were involved in a few weeks back. I just found out about it. I really apreciate the invite to check out your group and I most definitely will. Those events at DU are awesome. Thanks for posting the link.

Now that we've had our BIG snow, next month will be getting warm and sunny.. We'll be at the park next to the Library in Boulder on Saturday, and some Sunday afternoons. PM me your e-mail, and I'll get you on the contact list.
