I think most people would call that 9/8 or one bar 4/4 one bar 5/4, most people would probably go with the 9 because of the tempo.

I put it in the wrong subsection.
Music in 9/8, and bass figured in 4.5 .

That's classic Kashlima. He's just hitting on the 1, 3, and 5, and leaving out the last 4 beats. Kind of nice because then you can hear the flare of the dumbek at the end of the measure.

Here's pretty much the same thing that I did years ago with a group called Sherefe. I'm playing the didjeridu in that bass position:
