LP Caliente Congas -- decent?

Postby COL66 » Tue Jan 17, 2012 3:35 am

Hi Congueros,

My friend offered me a set of used LP Caliente congas (11 and 12 inches) for $250. Is that a good deal? Do any of you have any positive or negative experiences with the Calientes? Thanks much for the advice!

I currently have a set of Aspires and i'm looking to upgrade a bit without spending too much money. Thanks!

Saludos,
I think LP has 2 different brands "ardiente" & "caliente" , the ardiente is pretty good, but if the set your friend is selling you is the "caliente" with gold hardware, those aren't any better than the aspire, a good step up from aspires would be matadors..good congas & they don't break the budget..

Bongo is absolutely right. I migrated from Ardientes (good, utilitarian drums on which I had mules) to Matadors (better drums, currently with stock WB heads). Buy some Matadors.
