How much do JCR bongos cost?

I found a pair of JCR bongos at my local pawn shop. They are selling them for $150. Condition is about an 7/10. The wood does not have any cracks. Is $150 a good price? They seem to be about 20-30 years old. I've always heard great things about JCR. Thanks in advance for your input!

That's a great deal, I've seen JCRs going for $350.00 to prices that can't be mentioned. That's a collector's item and whoever has one won't let them go easy. I still looking for one for my collection but it's hard to find one even in bad conditions. Do you have a pic? Good Luck!

If you are new to the forum, you may not have noticed but there is a 'bongo' section 17 pages - 818 topics since 2001. Lots of stuff there for sure.

Also its generally expected that folks say a few words about themselves in their first post.

Its like being at a party and there is a group of friends having a chat and you [a total stranger] just kind of steps in the middle and starts talking ... it feels a little awkward ... ya know what I mean?

Post away bro - this forum needs new blood! I have a set of walnut Skin on Skin bongo's and absolutely love them!! I'm not cuban, or a professional bongo player, but having a set of bongo that can produce the sounds I was seeking made all the difference. I keep thanking Jay for making them for me before he retired.

What about Sol Bongos? I just checked out their new site; really bring the heat with a few changes.

Saludos, still don't know why some people find 1 bongó {no entry level type} better than the other. Many of the ones on that list are not use at all by salsa bands bongoceros down here. Some are just collectors items. Not trying to start a conflict of opinions, it is just the way I think.
