Log-in?!! - Why do I have to log in every time?

It's only thanks to your help if we can improve our web-site so ... leave a message here!

Postby agogobil » Sun Nov 17, 2002 10:28 pm

When I log in, it asks whether I want to stay logged in, and I answer "yes" ... yet whenever I come back to this site, even on the same day, I still have to log in if I want to post.

What's up?!!

Thanks.

Hi Agogobil,
i'm sorry about that!
I've done some tests but it didn't happen to me this problem.
Even if I come back after a week (unless I've deleted my cookies) the forum let me in already logged as CongaMan.

I think (but I'm not sure) that this should be a "client problem" more than a forum malfunction. You should try from another PC to see if you still have the same problem or check on your computer the cookies settings (accept all cookies from congaplace).

Keep in touch and let me know if you have solved or not the problem,
bye

Hey Agogobil,

I too was having this problem and this is how I resolved it(for my case):

The problem had to do with how my browser was handling cookies and its security/privacy settings. I am using Microsoft Internet Explorer. If this is the browser you are using the following steps may help you.
1.From IE window pull down menu, left click on "Tools".
2.Then left click on "Internet Options".
3.from the Internet Options window left click on the Tab labeled "Privacy".
4.Where it says Web Sites - To override cookie handling for individual web sites, left click on the "Edit" button.
5.Under address of web site type in : http://www.congaplace.com then left click on "Allow"
6.Left click on "Ok"
7.Again, left click on "Ok"

What this does is that it allows your computer to receive cookies just from congaplace.com without hindering any of your other security/privacy settings.

It worked on my computer.
Hope this helps :D

Thanks DaBid_Son,
your instructions are very helpful for all people having this problem (IE now handles cookies with a privacy setting as you mentioned)...

Agogobil I hope this will solve the problem ...
Bye to all of you...
