Asian factory crafted, not bad congas; some people says that it's the same factory chet make LP, but i don't believe! The white ash model is good, seems LP Galaxy!

JC,

With all due respect, I'll have to say, "Ugh!" to those reptilian-look Tycoon congas. ???

I hate reptiles. I know they're God's creatures and are innocent in themselves. They simply do what they're wired to do. But, to me, they're still slimy and slithery.

As Indiana Jones often said in the movies, "I hate snakes!"

I much prefer sophisticated elegance rather than overt flash.

Mi dos sentimos, :;): :)

I recently purchased a tycoon djembe, master series. the same series as those congas but different color. and belive me guys, these products are legit for the price. the manufacturing company that makes tycoon has been around for over 20 years, and sold percussion to america and other places under many different names. they recently decided to create thier own name brand and distribute directly.

Mark at @ www.x8drums.com He has all the info on this line and they have the bets prices on the net. they also carry the other popular name brands besides meinl.. and he will recoomend tycoon over any of them.
and the finishes on these drums are beautiful, if you want any thing other than wood finish. Id go tycoon.

P.s. I like ur enthusiasm JC....... Presumably a similair trait among other professional congueros :D

Peace Brothas

Coño J.C., those reptile congas are awesome! Me likes! I can just see myself rompiendo cuero on those drums out in Orchard Beach in the boogie down. They would certainly attract a lot of attention. Thanks for posting the pic.

Generally, Tycoon congas should sound no different from those of LP.

Gallichio,

I wonder why it sounded different when both Tycoon and LP use water buffalo skins, both brands being manufactured in Thailand, the biggest conga manufacturing country in the world!

OH YEAH, I SEE!

PEARL"S, SOUND LIKE TOCA'S,
TOCA'S SOUND LIKE MEINL'S,
MEINL'S, SOUND LIKE GON BOP'S TUMBAO PRO'S,
WHICH ALSO SOUND LIKE TYCOONS, LP'S, AND SO ON.

GIVE IT ANOTHER THOUGHT, OR TWO. ???
