Oh yeah captinquinto, some of my favorites. There's a cool funk band out of S.F called Vinyl, pretty good young funk percussionist name Johnny Durkin. Also:

Oaktown Irawo-Funky Cubonics
Paoli Mejias-Mi Tambor
Grant Green- Live at the Lighthouse
Mandrill-Live at Montreaux
Orishas-El Kilo
Oneness od Juju-African Rhythms

funk on!!

At this moment Steve Kroon - "En El Camino," McCoy Tyner - "Autumn Mood," Gabor Szabo - "Spellbinder," Count Ossie and the Mystic Revelation, BaBenzele Pygmies - "Greatest Hits Vol. 3," Muddy Waters - "Folk Singer," Billy Holiday - "The Best of." I can feel some classic country coming on, maybe Jimmy Rodgers "Blue Yodel #11?" Anyway, the bar is open and all is well on a beautiful Spring day down in Dixie!

Carlinhos Brown

I don't understand all of the lyrics but... the music is nice, it has lots of variety (Samba, Reggae, etc.). Every song is different.

This will seem like a weird combo but...
Midnight Oil- various discs(going back to my punk/rock roots)
Grateful Dead-various live bootlegs( my "hippie" roots)
Mongo- Afro Roots (my "new" Cuban by way of Scotland roots)
A 4 disc set called "Cuba-I am time", I love it!
Our local library has a large selection of (pardon the generic term) latin music and I have been fortunate enough to sample lots of different artists, but i know some of the ones mentioned on the forum are not there, so now I have some new music to find. Thanks guys! Peace
