Anyone else think a For Sale/Trade/Wanted section would be a good idea? The "Manufactures" section gets a few posts, but I see more posts for instruments for sale scattered in its corresponding instrument section, ie: congas for sale in the conga section. Just an idea, would be easier for people to look for instruments without searching every board and clean up the other sections for actual descussion of the topic.

I'm in agreement with you. I also think another good idea would be to have a section about making percussion instruments (like akdom's gwo ka post and other cajon posts etc...) That would be helpful to those of us who want to share and learn to make instruments etc...I know i've been having alot of fun with that stuff lately.

JC in reference to the raw hide you get at Tandy , it is of very low quality due to the bleaching and chemical processing that take out the natural oils.

No, you can get sides of unbleached rawhides at tandy as well. I used to get them there before I started buying from hereford byproducts here in texas.

Pcastag, may be in Texas steer country , but around here in Tampa they are usually small sides, and look as they had been bleached. I had some sides brought in from Colombia, with a nice natural color. have plenty now, but in the future i will see if i can special order them from Texas. Looking to get some mule and goat brought in this time.
