Per my phone conversation with Mario Punchard last night, this is his "just" his 3rd week back to work after his lovely wife, Almaz, gave birth to their new baby girl.
So, for all of those who have pending orders for Islas and are having a hard time being able to sleep at night

, although Mario is quite backlogged, your drums should be getting close to final production and delivery.
Don't worry, it'll all be worth the wait. I can vouch for the excellent sound of Isla drums, not to mention the very convenient weight. My set of canoe-wood quinto, conga and tumba (in Rosewood stain) are now just over 1 year old and, since the skins settled a few months after I got them, the sound has just gotten even fatter, warmer yet louder and with just the desirable amount of sustain (no ring).
All the best,
