They are discontinued colors, so they are very inexpensive. I think someone already mentioned this deal in another post.
I am a fickle Gal I guess?I will post when I actually purchase! I am still agonizing over the perfect set for me!

You are right in what you say about possible skin change or upgrade.
Given the chance I would sill opt for a mahogany vintage set - but as I write this,
I know that the price is going to explode on this set: http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-GON-BOP-MA ... 240%3A1318

I ended up purchasing the Gon Bops Tumbao Pro Conga and Tumba, in the discontinued red finish. I would have preferred the Tobacco Burst, but the Tumba is already sold out in that size.

Can someone advise which basket stands would work well with these?...
I am also planning on taking lessons now to learn the proper technique...

I am so excited to get the congas! It reminds me of when I got my first drum set when I was 15! It was a 60's Ludwig Jazz Set, blue sparkle! I wish I still had it!
I am filled with gratitude for this forum, and am thankful for it's members!
