With all the Peurto Ricans in New York was bomba and plena played? Are thier today more than this one rumba in the park? What about back in the day. JohnnyC has talked about different rumbas in the various Burroughs I believe, but what about the park itself. I think I've seen video of Hatians drumming, and a djembe drum circle in the park - present day. Is that how it has always been - different groups playing in different parts of the park? I really enjoy reading the accounts of you guy's experiences in N.Y.. I kind of miss 'Doctor Z' in that regard in terms of the history in Cuba. Whether it all was true or not, it was always interesting and entertaining reading.
