Mike,

Your contribution is greatly appreciated. It looks like we will have a good turnout. I have had some great players e-mail me about this week's gathering of the drums, rhythms, mind and spirit. It is all good in the name of the greater good of the conguero brotherhood.

I'm looking forward to this and I have been practicing the pointers from our lesson. I look forward to learning more from you and the other cats.

Peace and play that drum

Sounds like a fun session - best wishes up there.
Maybe I'll make the drive up one weekend.

The church has extended their welcome for this group. This comes as great news.

I would like to thank Mike for his consistent support and guidance. There have been several good congueros and bongoleros in attendance. Not yet a "true Rumba" but we are working on it and we have some players seriously taking lessons, practicing and coming to this event prepared to the best of their ability. So this ain't no drum circle but we ain't a Rumba either. (not a beginners group)

Mike and a few others have made great contributions for directing this group. I am humbled, grateful and working on my chops.

All are welcome, all we ask is for the players to listen and play with big ears.

Enjoy your drums and drumming

Thanks for the correction Abakua  I am not a Bongo player and I guess it shows.

My son was filming the last session (he is 14) and he will film more soon. I don't think we have anything that impressive to this crew but there might be some good edits.

Thanks again

This session has Mr. Bongo's nephew James Costanzo and Mike Gallichio playin' congas Mike on congas and James on quinto. Also a student of Mike's, SpyEd, my son and myself were there. It was cool and my son rolled for around an hour and a half wide angle shots. He played some shaker and bell too. My son has the crazy red afro and he's a cool kid who does film.

I quit a Chicago street precussion jazz group of 8 years when my son was 1. I have made as much as $680 in the subway below the Sear's tower with a trio when I was 23 with a trio of 2 congueros and me on marimba. Mike is schoolin' me on my street style and it's all good. I have studied with Mike because of this.

With the Chicago area and folks who know Mike and love drums you know that anything can happen. I hope to host Mr. Bongo himself at one of these sessions or even have a show at the Church.

It has been a good time.
We are surrounded by rhythm everywhere we go. Listen and be in sync with the clave. Peace
