Heal-Toe Exercise Feel

Postby Marcus » Fri Jun 03, 2011 3:30 pm

Hey People,

Trying to get my speed up for some heal-toe exercises but not sure just how I ought to feel them. The two I am working on are

H T T T H T T T H T T T H T T T
r l r l l r l r r l r l l r l r

Seems to me there is an emphasis on the a1, a2, a3, a4

H T T T H T T T H T T T H T T T
r r l r l l r l r r l r l l r l

Seem like there is a 1e, 2e, 3e, 4e emphasis

The H H T T has a obvious feel so! I think my greater question is how does the heal toe support cuban rhythms with alternative patterns and how ought I feel these patterns. I know I ought to find a great teacher and mentor and eventually I certainly will. But I do want to enter that relationship with some good skills well practiced.

thanks, Marcus

Johnny,

I know what you are saying and certainly agree and it is indeed time. I am in West Seattle so the mix is perfect. I think a September time frame works better as I have other commitments this summer--now that it is here.

thanks, marcus
