Wow, no kidding that's blinding speed! true, the arms aren't doing much, and it's all wrist,, but look at how the elbows are bowed out. That causes tension in the neck. Lots of people do play with their elbows out like Mike Spiro, most djembe players, and maybe even Giovanni H. But, I know from getting my neck completely frozen up when I was learning and practicing hard all day for many days in a row, what that can do to your upper traps and neck muscles. Eliel on the other hand has his elbows in line with his hands and shoulders. This causes 0 tension.
When my neck was frozen, they took an x-ray and it had lost the curve it's supposed have, and after advice from a fellow player who also knew something of anatomy, a change of elbow angle to straighter in line with the shoulders took care of it.
I realize this guy can play circles around me, and I'm still criticizing his technique. That might get some members hot, so, please know it's just my lame opinion.
