Very cool. Straight away reminded me of something I was listening to the other day - "The Jungle Line" {Joni Mitchell} - mainly because it mixed traditional drumming with a jazz tune and a heavy sax.

I recognize some "Burundi" style rhythms you guys are playing with sticks..great stuff!!

This is pure Ketu Candomblé. Therefore, Yoruba rhythms from Bénin ( Dahomey kingdom) and Nigeria.

I checked that Jungle line tune. Really cool. that must be where Bjork got a lot of her inspiration from.
No sax in the version I checked though....?

There is a short musical phrase that repeats itself that sounded like a real low end sax to me ... but my ears and my old beat up LP may have deceived me and that may have been synthesizer.
