I'm so glad that the folks running this list will allow this rant that many many people feel too politically squelched to voice - Just what happened in Nazi Germany.
I said something in passing to a few of my co-workers the other day about the "Nazis" in power and they were really shocked! ???
If we hide our true feelings about the reality of how our political regime affects the world - and us, then Amerikkka will just get larger and more dense. ???
And back to "BAG" I made a recording last night that probably will give a much more prominent feel to the Agbe lead pattern with Bembe parts. Maybe a link later.

OK, this mp3 clip is Eric playing the lead. I'm playing three drum Bembe with the big African drum on the left - hitting the one - and the other two are the segundo and quinto.
Eric on the tumba shifts back and forth between Agbe lead and Bembe possession hitting on the bombo - never on the one. Starts slow and speeds up.

I appreciate your comments of support!! Now being a fifty something fat, bloated middle class slob, I'm really NOT that political, and I REALLY DO want to go back to matters musical which is our main concern here. My own politics have whithered over the years into middle of the road malaise, but with the high crimes of this administration, we all must become more energised.
Now I take NO joy in these missives, I really don't. It is far more preferable to leave the mouth-foaming vitriol to pill-popping fatties like that retarded Rush Limbaugh or to the dubious moralizing of the fire-breathing gambling addict Bill Bennett and his "little book of morals." Both men are possessed of such lofty moral backgrounds I'm certain you could entrust the safety of your kids to either of these patriotic babysitters, or to Michael Jackson if they're too busy. It's amazing what people will believe these days and just how frighteningly effective the ill-liberal media can be in spreading Bush's many lies. THIS IS EXACTLY HOW THE NAZIS DID IT!!
As much as I would rather rattle on about cowbell and conga patterns, transculturation, or to ponder exactly what type of fill J. Lo prefers in HER marracas, I realize how picayune these concerns seem these days. How can we BE FREE in this climate of FEAR that Bush & Cheney's lies and manipulations have created!!! What ever happened to America? My beloved country is rapidly disapearing!!! Even the Katrina disaster pales by comparison!! My appologies, but now I will have to rant again.
Bush & Cheney are nothing more than two gutless chickenhawks who have NEVER been in the line of fire. How dare these cowardly fools wrap themselves up in our flag and soil it with their foul bodily fluids!!!! During the Viet Nam War, Bush was too busy drinking whiskey and snorting coke while out campaigning for some racist Alabama Nazi instead of reporting for duty as the rest of his National Guard company did. Cheney was too busy "pursuing other opportunities" while John Kerry was getting shot in Nam!! Yet they successfully ran as PATRIOTS and slimed Kerry's war record!!! They lied about 911, they lied about W.M.D.s, and then these two limp-wristed scumbags stooped so low as to expose one of our own intellegence officers to achieve their own filthy ends in Iraq. If Clinton had done ANYTHING remotely like that he would have been shot on the spot. Yet my country sits silently while these two evil pimps trade our children's blood for oil money!!! It is time to not only impeach these Machevillian amoralist TRAITORS but hold a war tribunal in the Haugue!!! Don't let these bloated rich white frat boys rape our country ANYMORE and please stop them before they pimp ALL the beautiful meaning from our blood-engourged flag and the FREEDOMS it represents!!! Real men died for the ideals of our founding fathers, and I would be MOST willing and happy to do the same! But NOT in Iraq and NOT for this administration!!!! After Katrina, neither of these cowardly thugs even had the guts to approach the convention center in New Orleans. ####, even pop singer Harry Connick Jr. did that.
